Biography

About Cernunnos Rising

Born 3rd August 1955, Liverpool, George Nicholas is a professional artist/muralist/cartoonist. George has spent the last 35 years running charity that improves the environments for sick, disabled, disadvantaged and terminally ill children.

George had made the decision at Yule Festival on the Isle of Mona (Anglesey) 2008 to embark on a musical journey and transform his many poems and lyrics into songs and music celebrating the land, seasons and the soul.

Since George has embarked on his musical journey he has had the good fortune to find new talented and musical friends, to assist him in the unique sound now collectively known as Cernunnos Rising.

His album features the talents of Matt McGrory (Guitar), Martin Clarke (Keyboards & Flute), Nick Reynolds (Bass), Simon Lomax (Guitar, Flute, etc..), Carla Lewis & Katie Nicholas (Vocal Harmonies)... and last but not least... the multi-talented Phil Orme, who played on and produced the Wild Soul album.

Many thanks must also go out to the exceptionally talented Angi Barnet who produced the original art work featured on both the album cover and the website.

George also had the good fortune to become friends with the internationally renowned new age producer Medwyn Goodall, who he collaborated with on his first album.

About George Nicholas

My mural painting activities can be viewed on www.impact-murals.co.uk. At the moment I am engaged in the relaunch of my cartoon characters the WEREBEARS after a gap of about 20yrs, www.werebears.com. and of course there is my music site you know of - www.cernunnosrising.co.uk. I think there is still a My Space page or two knocking about. Anyway all this activity of mine is borne from a very fertile imagination watered by the the gentle rain of `awen` and inspiration that is all around. But by and large on a creative level my head is like a `box of frogs` 24/7 and I think I am compelled to bring my creativity into this world through my music, art, and poetry! and also share and give my skills for the benefit of the community and improve people's environments, particularly for the sick, disabled, disadvanted, and the terminally ill. This is my life's work - this is what i need to do.

I am 56 yrs of age,and have crammed an awful lot into my life from artist/sculpturist/muralist, Boxer, Fireman, Paramedic, (in the U.S.A.) actor, inventor, animator/cartoonist. Poet and singer songwriter, etc. But, in and amongst all this throughout my whole life, from the earliest time, there has been the need, the thirst, the compulsion, to remain on the `Path` to remain `Connected` to be close to that old and ancient and `Living Tradition! -That which Motivates, excites, and Inspires me.
